This course provides essential vessel handling skills for supporting unmanned systems on the water. Training includes operating a support (chase) vessel to monitor, control, and intervene when necessary, as well as fundamental operator training for maneuvering and safely operating unmanned assets.
By the end of this course, participants will be proficient in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) for:
- Safe launch and recovery
- Docking and maneuvering
- Loss of power scenarios, stern and hip tow recoveries
- Other common emergency situations involving unmanned systems
